Navarra Hotel-Beautiful building and just 10 seconds from the main square in Brugge, yet so quiet! The pool is a real bonus and breakfast was fab! Going again in December for the Christmas markets-and the waffles!

Top Tip

You MUST climb the belfry! Unbelievable views, eat the choc and waffles and try Zot Beer-lovely! Lots of cobbles so take lots of coffee breaks and talk to the locals-they're so friendly!

Lacks lounge area - stark room just off reception. Bar open from 15.00 - snacks very poor.No atmosphere Inclement weather decidedly not a bonus here. Room very poor, dark etc.

Hotel provides street map on the reverse of which is an excellent list of restaurants of different standards - very well done.

All very nice at the hotel. However, disappointed that we had not been able to make use of the garden as all the chairs were stacked away and the garden area was taped off. Would be a good idea to provide dressing gowns to use to go down to the pool rather than having to get fully dressed/undressed at the pool iteself. The room was a very nice size indeed, such a shame the TV was not larger as it was difficult to see from the bed. Maybe a larger flat screen tv mounted on the wall would have been a better option. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel, try restaurants away from the Market Square, they are much cheaper.

Top Tip

Don't forget to use your discount card given by the reception staff when you check-in which allows you €2 off the price of 2 people boat trip as well as many other discounts of similar value like the Diamond Museum.

The Hotel was beautifully kept. The reception staff were most helpful and polite. The breakfast was varied and very good quality and again the staff were exceptionally polite. We were paticularly impressed with this given that it was Christmas and the staff were obviously working right through! The Room was spacious, modern & clean with all necessary requirements, including tea and coffee facilities. The room (391) was the very last room in the hotel at the top and if we had one very small comment it would be that it was just a little cool with the air conditioning pre-set to 24 degrees however you tried to pump up the heat. I am sure having said this, if we had asked, we would have been given a heater. There was a bathroom heater. The pool was lovely but out of action a couple of times a day for cleaning, a little more than the 30 minutes stated in the hotel information. However this did not detract from the experience as there was also a sauna and gym.

We obviously came at Christmas time and most of the restaurants were very busy. We were glad that we booked a restaurant for Christmas Day as the Hotel does not have one. We booked the Duc De Borgogne which was excellent and served a fabulous gastronomique menu which we will remember for years to come. The Christmas market food is also of a very high standard serving a range of food. The markets themselves for goods are small, i.e. not as big or varied as Prague or Krakow, however there were some quality items to be bought. The City is very clean, no grafitti to be seen in the main interesting areas, no litter and we felt perfectly safe on the streets whatever time of day or night we happened to be walking around. Unfortunately the brewery was closed at this time we were in Bruges, however walking around the various buildings and parks is a nice way to spend your day, popping into the chocolatier for a hot chocolate whenever you felt the urge! We also visited Cafe Central on Christmas Eve which was very busy. We managed to secure an upstairs table and the waiter was very pleasant even though he was rushed off his feet! We then spent the remainder of the evening in Cathedraach - a sort of bar/nightclub which actually catered for all age groups and there was plenty of dancing!

Ideally Situated. Car Parking On site, so no worries. Excellent Breakfasts, Warm Rooms, Telly could have been bigger, but hey, we shouldn't have been needing to watch TV !

Watch the chocolates ! Restaurants on the Central Square won't disappoint you.

Although I would recommend this hotel I would not recommend the room we had. Room 10 is not a 4star room and is poor in comparison to the standard of the other rooms in the hotel. It's small and dark with an over the bath shower that gets the whole floor wet when you use it. Friends had other rooms in the hotel and they were much nicer
