On our previous stay September 2010, we found this hotel excellent in every aspect. However this time the room was in need of redecoration and my wife and I were bitten by insects /bed bugs (not identified. I suspect that had we booked direct with the hotel we would have been offered better rooms.

We loved everything. Particular highs were the welcome when we arrived, and the special character of this older hotel. To see its restaurant patronised by so many local non-tourists added to the character and was an indication of its quality. For us, arriving from Hull by ferry, its location was ideal being only 500 metres fropm the ralway station where the bus dropped us, and 50 metres from the main Tourist Information Office. The city centre is within walking distance.

We told reception when there was a problem with the hot water supply,it could not be repaired immediately so we were then transferred to another room.
